What's in it for you??
  • $10 Gift Certificate to Geek in Pink
  • Free Data Deletion upon request (a $45 value!)
  • a warm fuzzy feeling for safely disposing of your used system!
(results may vary on the warm fuzzies)
What do you have to do?
  • Bring your Windows 98 or newer computer to our shop at 14074 Trade Center Drive in
Fishers. (oh yeah, and you have to leave it here)
  • Or donate your old system recovery CDs for Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP, Vista or 7 for any
    brand machine.
  • Sign a paper saying you WANT us to dispose of it
What are we going to do with your stuff?
  • We are going to strip it of usable parts to use internally or by other agencies to minimize the
    actual waste
  • We will dispose of the parts that can't be reclaimed (fancy word for reused)
  • We will format hard drives upon request to safely delete data
Fine Print (we'll make it big so you can read it)
  • NO monitors, printers, scanners, copiers or other big peripherals (our place is little and we
    have to conserve space)
  • Limit one offer per week for the Gift Certificate offer
  • No parted out machines. They don't have to work, but they need to be intact to qualify.
  • Power cords and cable are welcome but must accompany a machine or qualifying recovery
CDs to get a gift certificate.
  • Gift certificate is good towards service at Geek in Pink and expires 12/31/2010.
  • Gift certificate is transferable so feel free to spread the joy around! Just don't make copies of
it...because we won't take the copies.
Why are we doing this?
  • Some machines are still mechanically fine but old enough that it's very difficult to get parts
for them - or worse yet recovery CDs. This helps us keep our customers in their old
machines longer -- saving the expense of a new machine. This is especially true for some of
our elderly clientele who only use their machines for email and don't want a fancy-schmancy
new machine. We like our customers and we want to help them.
  • We don't like to see working technology - even parts - go in the trash. Most of it is useful to
someone. Most of us want to see it go to someone who can use it rather than the trash. We
are just helping put the two together. (none of us want to compromise our data in doing it
though - we can take care of that too)
